Choo! Choo!

This painting was made for a sweet little boy, who, as his mom describes, drew the short end of the stick.  His mom had sent me an email the other night, looking for another art company because her son loves art!  Her son, Braden, has what is called ataxia-telangiectasia (don't ask how to pronounce that!)...also known as A-T.  It is basically having muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, cancer, and an immune deficiency disorder all in one..rare, progressive, and terminal.  Could you only imagine? (Her son is only going on four.)

In her email, she had sent me the link to her website, so I took a look.  As I was glancing through the website, I ran across Braden's 'Bucket List.'  Many of the items had something to do with trains..going to Thomas Land, driving a steam engine, ride the Polar Express, and riding a bullet train.  As my boyfriend and I were looking through Braden's blog..we both thought that I should do something that might just put that big smile on Braden's face.  So.. I decided to combine Braden's love for trains (and the color yellow), and my love for art..and there you go..you have a painting with a train!

I encourage everyone to take a look at Braden's blog and read his story:  http://bradenwinks.wordpress.com/

Sports Fans

One thing that I absolutely love about painting, is getting a request to paint an Alabama themed canvas.  I love being able to think of new ideas that are all about my Tide!  I guess that is what happens when you were born and raised an Alabama fan!  This painting is going to a great Alabama home!  As dedicated as I am to the Tide, this painting can be done in any sports team (I guess I can include Auburn as well!)  :)

This is a spare little monogram 8x8 canvas that I have.  It is a keylime green and tan with gold accents (which are very hard to see in this picture!)  If you are interested in this painting, please email at Doodlebugart1@gmail.com

Circles, circles...and more circles!

Since I've moved into my apartment (forever ago), the wall above my leather blue couch has been empty.  I've always been meaning to paint something to place over it..and I've also been wanting to do a multi-canvas piece of work.  Well..a year and half later, I have finally filled in that open space above my couch!  I have to say, that it turned out absolutely perfect.  I didn't really have a set mind of what I wanted..other than circles.  So I just started putting some random circles here and there, and once I got my larger circles painted, I just went to town, and filled them out!  Once I was finished the painting, I added black and white puff paint, which I have to say, did so much for it..it just made it all absolutely pop!  Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this piece of art as much as I do..and if you are interested in it or anything else offered at Doodlebug Art, please send an email!

This wreath was created to match a comforter from Pottery Barn.  I love the colors and the fabric and ribbon used in this wreath!  The colors look great together!

This is the latest and greatest at Doodlebug Art!  Ribbon Wreaths are now being offered!  The wreaths are made out of different types of fabrics and ribbon.  They can be made in different sizes, as well.  All wreaths included a monogram/letter.

This wreath was made in an Alabama theme.  It includes an 'H' wooden letter attached to the wreath, however, small canvases can be used for a monogram or name!
