You know...

The hardest part of blogging to me is coming up with a title for my post.  Sometimes, I just sit and stare at the screen for minutes before coming up with something to title my posts with!  On the other hand, I cannot believe how much painting I have gotten done these past couple of weeks!  It is probably the first time I am able to work on my stock for future craft shows/street festivals.

I absolutely love everything about this painting.  As some of you can probably guess, my favorite part is the ribbon.  As I have said before, I have a true obsession over ribbon!  They can do so much for a painting, and it is all just so darn cute!  I probably spent ten minutes at Hobby Lobby today trying to decide on the ribbon I wanted to use for this painting.  Usually I use two strands of ribbon, but this time I decided on three and I think I really...really like it!  (Especially when I get request for really girly/cutesy paintings!)

This next painting actually came from an idea off of a gift bag.  For some reason, this past week, all of my creative juices cranked up and I have so many new ideas and have been inspired by so many random things from around the house, in stores, and shopping for my baby niece!  I am excited to try this painting out with different colors and different types of ribbon!

Tomorrow I am heading back down to Tuscaloosa for the day.  It still takes my breath away to see my town of four great years..totally devastated.  The Hobby Lobby that really got my business going and I spent so many hours at..is gone.  It is funny that I was there the morning of the tornado, for the last time.  The one thing that still amazes me is how my apartment complex is the only thing standing in its area.  I have been told by many people that obviously there is a reason I am still here and I plan on finding that reason and not letting anyone down.  Whether it has
to do with my paintings - or maybe changing children's lives through teaching - I am not going let anyone down!

I promise!

Cork Boards & Chalk Boards

I am discovering so many new things in Hobby Lobby lately!  My recent find are these cute little wooden animals.  They come in an elephant, a zebra, a lion, a giraffe, and a pirate monkey.  There are a lot of different ways you can go with these animals.  My first one, I wanted to try out with a cork board.  I thought they would be so cute in a child's room or a teacher's classroom (especially if they have a jungle theme!)  Some other ways you can go with these animals are with a chalk board or a picture frame. I am excited to paint an elephant animal! :)

Picture Frames

I was in Hobby Lobby today and ran across these new flower and butterflies.  They are made from paper-like ribbon.  Both my mom and I thought they were the cutest things and would look adorable on picture frames, so I had to try it out!  This picture frame is a 5x7 painted in purple.  I added a painted initial, as well.

There are many other different designs.  Each design comes in both a flower and a butterfly.

These are the other designs that are available.  They would also look great on a larger frame, an 8x10.  You can add the initial if you like, or leave it off...I think they are cute either way!

These would make adorable gifts for anyone!  Email if interested in your custom frame!

Whew!..

I have finally finished my Auburn design!  It is currently available for $20.  It is painted on an 11x14 canvas and all it needs is your name on it!  I also have some new ideas for Auburn.  This week, I will also be working on a canvas for a cheerleader at UAB (maybe I should just stick to doing college canvases!)

I have lots of new things coming up this week so be sure to check back!

Elephants, Tigers, and a Sneak Peek

I'd like to start off by thanking you all for the thoughts, prayers, and support since the tornado.  I can't believe it has already been over two weeks - it still seems like yesterday.  Things are coming along in Tuscaloosa - very slowly, but they are coming along.

It took me a little over a week to finally get back to painting.  I had a lot of orders of elephants before the tornado for end of the year gifts to teachers.  I have gotten most of the elephants completed - I still have two more left but I promise they are coming along!  I also had a lot of request to create an Auburn painting like my Alabama painting with the elephants.  Drum roll please.....  I have FINALLY created an Auburn paintings for all the tigers fans.  It is still currently being worked on, but I think it'll be a hit!  (If you have checked out Facebook lately, you have already seen a preview of it!)  Check back at the end of the week to see the debut of the tigers!

Before I post my pictures - I have gotten into couponing lately.. & I mean extreme couponing!  I'd love for you to share any tips, ideas, etc., you have for a coupon newbie :) ..now back to the pictures..

Proof that there is work being done!

And here it is .. my sneak peek of the Auburn canvas.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Due to tragedy in my current town of Tuscaloosa, all proceeds from any paintings will go towards tornado relief.
