'Tis the Season

This month has FLOWN by, I can't believe October is almost here!  I am so ready for jeans and sweatshirts and hot chocolate!  Who is with me!?

I have been busy paintings up a storm lately!  Before we get to the good stuff, let me catch you up on some recent paintings!

This is one of my favorite color combinations - purples and browns.  This is also a new cross design I am adding to Doodlebug Art!  This is on an 11x14 and is available at $25

With football season here, these make the perfect door hangers!  I made this one for a lady at my mom's office, Dorie.  Her birthday was yesterday and my mom threw an Alabama Tailgatin' Birthday Party for her at work!

I don't think I have ever told you all - when I had originally painted the first ever "Dots" painting, this wasn't what I had in my all.  But!  I am so glad it turned out this way because I love the design and all of the colors!

I found these cute 4x4 picture frames and have been playing around with some different ideas.  This one is made with scrapbook paper and paint! Another favorite color combination.

Now onto my baby!..
Introducing one of my Christmas designs for this year!

This is on a 10x20 canvas.  I attached red and white jingle bells at the bottom!

Keep on the lookout for some other cute Christmas designs coming up!

I am in love with Family Rules prints - I have seen so many that have some great rules on them.  I chose a few of my favorite rules to play around with this piece.

Say thank you.

This piece is a 13x24 piece that includes a red distressed frame.  It is currently available at $35

I am also working on a large order of canvases.  Here is a sneak peek at some finished pieces!

Inspired From the Heart

I would like to introduce you to these new little cuties.  I love the heart with the wings design and have been wanting to try it out for sometime.

I am a sucker for anything that looks distressed.

And now let me introduce you to one of my all time favorite pieces..

This piece is painted on an 11x15 wooden plaque.  It is a mix of paint and scrapbook paper.  It is currently available at $25 (think Christmas!)

Mr. Roboto

Whew! That is all I have to say!  These suckers have just about kicked my hiney!  I can't tell you how long I have been working on these robot paintings.  I thought I was never going to finish them..but I am glad I did!  If I may say so myself, they turned out pretty awesome (just don't ask me to paint another robot for a while ;)

These robots are painted on 10x20 canvases.  I wanted each robot to have his own personality, and I think I managed that one - I have a big eared robot, big eyed robot, and big teeth - they are all cute in their own special way :)

I have to admit that the "JAX" name in the robot was not my idea - I have to give that credit to the mom who ordered them.  I definitely give her props on that!

It is never too early to get a jump start on your holiday gifts.  Doodlebug Art is a great place to find that special piece of art for the kiddos, for the newlyweds, the teachers, even for yourself!  So get to thinking on your holiday wish list!

This past Thursday evening, I finally became an aunt to the beautiful Kayla Madison!  She weighed in at 6 pounds, 11 ounces, and 19 inches.  We have been waiting for her arrival for a very long time and are so blessed to have her in our lives!  She is such a precious angel!

This painting was finished, for the most part, back in the summer to have ready for a baby shower.  The lucky mommy had her baby boy in August, and I finished up the painting with the baby's name, Owen, and his birth information.  I was sent many pictures of things used in the nursery and the rest was up to me to coordinate the painting with the pictures.  I always have so much fun matching paintings with nurseries!

These are 2 of the pictures that I used to come up with the canvas layout.  I took a few dots from this painting to add the baby's information in.

I absolutely LOVE these wall decals!  They are the cutest things!  When I first saw a picture of these, I knew that I wanted to use them in someway on the painting.

(The monkeys are definitely my favorite!)

The completed canvas

This is a painting idea that I wanted to play around with and see how it'd turn out.  It't more of an abstract painting, but I still love how it turned out!  I think it'd be a great piece to hang over a couch or a bed with a frame.  I also love the color of background - Robin's Egg Blue - one of my favorites!

This canvas is a 16x20 and is currently available at $30.
